Step 1: Combine the base ingredients
- Add ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, honey, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to a medium saucepan.

Step 2: Add seasonings
- Whisk in smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and liquid smoke if using.

Step 3: Simmer the sauce
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.

Step 4: Thicken and finish
- Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15–20 minutes until thick and glossy. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Step 5: Cool and store
- Remove from heat, let it cool slightly, then transfer to an airtight container.

Notes
You can also serve it as a dipping sauce for fries, onion rings, or drizzle it over sandwiches for extra smoky-sweet flavor.
