  • 1 lb white American cheese cubed
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese shredded
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 can 10 oz diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 small jalapeño finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro optional

Method
 

Step 1: Melt the Butter
  1. Place your saucepan over medium heat and melt the butter. This helps prevent the cheese from sticking and adds a little richness to the base.

  1. Pour in the milk and gradually add the cubed white American cheese. Stir constantly so the cheese melts smoothly without clumping.
